This imaginative and playful exercise blends elements of art (line, colour, rhythm, mark-making) with elements of music.
It focuses on a visualisation of music, through a very personal lens: a favourite song.
Grade 6 Art immersed themselves in this lesson, enthusiastically completing extraordinary visualisations of favourite songs as paintings.
The paintings became beautiful abstract fields of colour, with sensitive explorations of gesture, touch, and energetic mark-making.
We also made the pieces wearable!
In this way Grade 6 students were able to walk around the school displaying their work and initiating discussion about the project with their classmates.
