Grade 7 students have made wonderful ‘Personal Symbol’ sculptural drawings.
Inspired by Early Christian Art symbols, students were tasked with developing their own symbol that embodied personal values, beliefs, and purpose.
Students completed a ‘Personal Values’ worksheet, then made sketches focused on reducing their symbol to simple, but powerfully meaningful images.
Clay was introduced, for students to engrave their symbol. The clay was then painted black, and the students finished by gently applying gold paint into their engraved marks.
